I’m Still Alive! For Now…

•November 6, 2009 • Leave a Comment

No, GlaDOS hasn’t killed me, but it sure felt like it!

This is just a mini-update to say that I’m not dead yet, and I didn’t suddenly abandon Second Life. It’s just the past weeks I’ve been juggling hospital tests (follow up Brain MRI, blood tests, ultra-sound, sonomamography etc etc), and the subsequent doctor visits (not to mention medication involved) and even some minor out-patient surgery. I’m not even done yet, considering two of my doctors are booked solid until the next two weeks and I need to visit them too.

In addition to that, my family and I are moving to a new condominium. We’ll be renting out the one we’re living in now since it’ll be far more profitable to just rent some place cheaper and earn from the rent. So the past week and the next few weeks are filled with sorting out junk (that has accumulated in the last ten years), holding a garage sale, designing the place, buying furniture & appliances.

Oh lets not forget I also caught the flu just a few days ago (and I was still trying to pack and stuff). (@_@)

Given the expenses involved, and the fact I’m not making anything the past few weeks, I will have to close some of my stores that aren’t earning as much, as I may not be able to sustain the rental (or even be online for that matter to pay for them–I still have yet to talk to our utilities and ISP service regarding the change of address and installation of phone lines, cable and DSL (and given I live in a third-world country, it would be a sheer miracle if they can get everything up by the end of the month) at the new place.

I’ll try to be online as much as I can, although mostly to take a short break from the insanity and pay rent. But other than that I’ll be a bit scarce for a while. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to finish my Steam-punk Victorian outfit within the month at least.

Anyway wish me luck on the move and my doctor’s and see you guys soon. :)

New Arabian Fantasy Handmaiden Costume

•October 18, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Before I begin, I’d like to thank all those who have donated to the Red Cross for the victims of the Typhoon Ondoy/Ketsana. Your efforts are much appreciated, and every little bit given helps.

Now onward to the update.

Well October is upon us and I’m fairly delayed from making stuff. Considering that Halloween is coming soon, it only made sense for me to make something that’s usually different from my usual main stays of Victorian or Lolita/EGL. It’s just that I make costumes to begin with so I figured I’d at least do something I don’t do often, which in this case was to design another fantasy Arabian outfit.

Zahrah is part of the Kingdom of Heaven, sort of my sub-category for Arabian/Desert-esque inspired fashion/costumes. Zahrah was intended to be an outfit for a Jinn though now that I look at it, it seemed more appropriate for a royal handmaiden.

I’ve tried to make this outfit a little bit more versatile by adding a translucent version of the glitch-pants (and the sculpted poofy part), an option for short or long tassels on the scarf belt, opaque and or translucent veils. They’re just minor things to make things a little bit more interesting. Unfortunately I didn’t get enough time to play with Blender to come up with better add-ons.

The outfit includes the following: Blouse (jacket & shirt), Glitchpants (opaque & translucent), sculpted poofy pants attachment (opaque & translucent), sculpted scarf belt (short & long tassels), and sculpted prim veil (opaque & translucent).

There are eight (8) colour alternatives to choose from: Blue, Bronze, Midnight Blue, Pearl, Pink, Purple, Red and Steel.

Each outfit costs L$550 each, and the fatpack that contains all eight (8) outfits costs L$3,500.

Zahrah (Emerald) is available in my Group Only Gift Chair. So, just remember to switch to your Silver Rose Design group tags, and sit on the cushions for a few minutes to get your gift.

Ondoy/Ketsana Typhoon Relief

•September 29, 2009 • 2 Comments

You’ve probably heard the news, but last weekend’s rains had caused flood waters in my area to rise and turn many cities, and major thoroughfares into rivers causing untold damage, killing people and displacing hundreds and thousands of people.

I’ve set up donation kiosks, that I received from Shai Delacroix, in all my stores. I’ve also set up some vendors whose proceeds will be donated to Red Cross.

I usually set aside a color alteration in my clothing designs to serve as a future vendor for charities or as prizes for hunts. These clothes will not be re-sold for personal profit.

The dresses are priced between L$200 to L$300, and if you’re feeling extra generous you can donate some more at the Red Cross donation kiosk (it’s that red box with the sign on it). Please help, every little bit counts.

The Ondoy/Ketsana Clothes’ Vendors are available in my Main Store.

For those who want to donate outside of Second Life™,  you can donate to http://www.redcross.org.ph/ or refer here:

New Store and Other Things

•September 27, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Yesterday’s horrid, horrid downpour that put half the city (and the surrounding cities) under flood waters and having two people stranded at my place to spend the night all has not made things “happy” for all of us here. I’m just grateful that power didn’t go out in our area, then we’d be really screwed.

September is not a happy month to be, at least in my end of the world.

On SL related news, I have recently been granted an opportunity to open a stall in this nice fantasy-esque sim called Savage Gardens, my thanks to SwisBeagle Tomorrow for the invitation. My stall is situated by the corner almost by the sim’s edge. You’ll recognize the stall if you see a purple banner with a silver rose and dagger flapping gently in the breeze.  It also has a second floor,  to get there just click on the ladder to climb up.

Click here to visit my store in Savage Gardens.

Now my branch in Kingdom of Sands has moved to a new and better market. It’s not yet open to the public, until the end of the month I think. I honestly like it, for one the market is a lot less laggy, it felt bigger due to the open air market design. And did I already mention that the build is just divine? I would honestly love to join the RP given the taste of the setting but I’m not exactly very well versed in this setting. (^^)

So update your Kingdom of Sand LMs to my store by clicking here, I’ll see you guys when the sim opens.

I’ve also recently finally gotten my hands on a Subscribe-O-Matic and I sort of forgot about it. :/ I know silly right? But I did remember that I do have a copy, so now I’ve set one up in my Main Store. I was going to set up in all my stores but my intarwebs weren’t cooperating (not surprising given the abysmal weather we’ve had).

So for those who don’t have enough Group slots, just click on the sign to get your updates. Now the downside to this is that you can’t use the Group Only gift chair unless you’re in the Silver Rose Design group. :(

Now the past few days I’ve been fixing up the store and adding the option to “Buy All” (or what’s commonly called in SL as the ‘Fatpack’) option. Instead of a ginormous vendor, I’ve instead opted for simplicity. Just look at the lower right (or left for some) display poster and you’ll see it.

The “Buy All” option allows you to get all color alterations of the gowns / dresses / costumes at a discounted price, instead of buying them one-by-one.

The Fatpacks are currently only available in my Main Store.

Demure Maiden, Pamela

•September 25, 2009 • Leave a Comment

When it rains, it pours and turns into a tropical typhoon with flooding. I think that would be best to describe this month of September.

That being said, updates got a little delayed this time around, so I’m not sure if I can produce another outfit before next week. Here’s to miracles. >_>

My latest lolita dress, is very demure. The dress can be worn two ways: it can be worn as a stand-alone dress that’s perfect for summer and spring or when the weather is just warm and as an outer dress to put on over your favorite blouse. For this dress, I did include a matching inner white blouse just in case you don’t have any blouses you’d like to wear with the outer dress.

The outfit includes the following: Outer dress blouse (shirt & jacket), outer dress glitch pants, outer dress sculpted collar, inner white blouse (shirt & undershirt), inner white blouse sculpted sleeves, outer dress flexi prim skirt (scripted & non-scripted).

There are six (6) color alternatives to choose from: Blue, Choco, Lilac, Olive, Peach & Teal.

The outfit costs L$200 each. A fatpack is also available for L$850.

Pamela (Steel), is available in my Group only Gift Chair. So, just remember to switch to your Silver Rose Design group tags and sit on the cushions for a few minutes to get your gift.

Items are COPY / MODIFY / NO TRANSFER.

Miss Georgia

Banks + Lawyers = one very harassed me.

Needless to say that has delayed me a bit this month. I was really hoping to get three items at least every month up. But hey, those are the breaks. I’ll try to make up for it in September. I’m really trying to gun for an outfit a week, as long as real life doesn’t get in the way of course.

Other than that, I’ve decided to bring back (sort of) one of the older gowns I’ve recently retired. Georgia, was supposed to be an update for the Autumn Elegance look. I’m not sure if I succeeded but hey if not I can always try again.

Georgia is not going to be any of my more flamboyant bustles. If anything, she has a more streamlined silhouette, that gives her that elegant feel without really loosing that Victorian touch.

The outfit includes the following: blouse (jacket & shirt), system skirt, glitchpants, sculpted collar with ruffles, sculpted cuffs, sculpted upper sleeves and prim skirt (scripted & non-scripted).

You can choose from six (6) colors: Blue-Purple, Chocolate-Teal, Crimson-Steel, Gold-Green, Purple-Blue & Steel-Red.

The colors I’ve chosen for this set have that touch of gothic to it, nothing too gothic but I figured I’d mix a bit of darker colors with the usual.

Georgia (Moss-Gold) is now available in my Group Only Gift chair.

Just remember to switch to your Silver Rose Design group tags and sit on the cushions for a few minutes to get your gift.

Items are COPY / MODIFY / NO TRANSFER.

Charming Lolita Angelique

•August 13, 2009 • Leave a Comment

My previous update’s sale went pretty alright and I’d like to thank everyone who shopped. As you guys also probably noticed I’ve been fixing up the vendors slowly, making them easier to see and group, and added a bigger product ad that has additional info of the product (like the contents you expect to see inside).

That being said lets go onward to the update.

Angelique is another outerwear dress, with the option to wear it as is, or on top of your own inner blouse, or even with just the prim skirt over a different top you own, and the inner blouse is also a separate that you can pair with your other outfits, so really you can do a lot with this outfit, and you can mix-and-match with the existing outfits you have.

This set includes the following: Outer dress top (shirt & jacket), Outer dress with Blouse (undershirt, shirt, jacket), Inner Blouse (undershirt, shirt, jacket), glitchpants, prim collar, prim sleeves (upper and lower),  and prim skirt (scripted & non-scripted)

You can choose from six (6) colors: Antique Blue, Antique Rose, Brown, Olive, Red & Steel at L$ 270 each.

A fatpack is also available at L$1,200.

Angelique (Purple) is available in my Group only Gift Chair. So, just remember to switch to your Silver Rose Design group tags and sit on the cushions for a few minutes to get your gift.

Items are COPY / MODIFY / NO TRANSFER.

On toward my second update!

When I heard that ATLUS Vegas sim closed, I was heartbroken. Being a big fan of ATLUS and it’s games, it made me happy knowing that there’s a sim in Second Life for fans like me so when it closed down we felt terrible mostly because when it did close down so did it’s stores.

Now Ms. Seri Writer, owner of the ROMAN sim that runs the Taisho Era, had just informed me that ATLUS Vegas has set up some of their avatars for sale in the sim!

As you can see from the picture, Ms. Seri is posing beside one of the two vendors wearing the succubus avatar.

Hee! Now if only someone would make skins based of Kazuma Kaneko’s art then I’ll be happy! Deliriously so! I would love to go around gallivanting in SL dressed up as Maya (P2).

Here’s another picture this time of the second cart.

I’m really hoping that they’d have more avatars and that they don’t stop making them. I really want Margaret (P4) avatar since I find her so pretty, or even avatars of the personas.

If you guys want to visit click here.

Working Gal

I don’t know why sometimes but the simpler the dress the more I feel like I’m struggling to get it right. There’s something about the simplicity of clothing that mayhaps tend to stump me. It’s the same kind of thing I get when I design men’s clothes, which is probably why it takes me forever to make them.

Working Girl, is the latest in my attempt at making the Moga look, Prohibition inspired obviously.

The outfit includes: Jacket w/ Blouse, Jacket only (jacket), Blouse only (jacket & shirt), glitchpants (pants & underpants), prim skirt (scripted & non-scripted), sculpted prim sleeves, & sculpted clotche hat.

You can choose from five (5) colors: Chocolate, Ebony, Peach, Purple & Teal at L$400 each.

A fatpack is available at L$1,200.

Items are COPY / MODIFY / NO TRANSFER.

My items are also available in XStreet SL, just click here to see my list of items.

If you visit my Taisho store in Roman, you can avail for the discounted versions of this outfit with the outfit costing L$250 each and the fatpack at L$800.

On other news, I’ll be holding a half-priced  sale on selected items in my Main Store from 7:00pm July 29, 2009 – 7:00pm July 30, 2009 (SLT). This is going to be a “Cold Storage” sale, as the discounted items will be taken off from the shelves in-world and will only be available at XStreet SL after.

The sale is limited to the Main Store only.

*Edit to add: I’ve fixed up the linked vendors in both my Main Store and my store in Caledon. Ugh I feel so silly now.

Silver Rose Designs in Taisho Era

•July 19, 2009 • Leave a Comment

It was funny how this all came about, my boyfriend was running an L5R-Mushi-shi cross-over game set in the Taisho Era, a setting that was special to both of us. And it got me to think: “I will only make Prohibition outfits, basically fashion set from 1910’s up to the 1930’s if my stuff were to be showcased in a Taisho Sim.”

My boyfriend knows this, considering that we’re also both fans of ATLUS and Demon Summoner Kuzunoha Raidou (which was beautifully set in the Taisho Era), it was little wonder I’d think of this. If anything I did *try* my hand to expand my work as evidence to Spring Time Jazz and Tequila Rose early 2008, but sales were lacking–meaning no one really bought anything. It was a disheartening experience back then.

Then Ms. Seri Writer contacted me this week and offered me a place in the Taisho Era sim that she was running. I had initially thought it was a mistake. I was a Victorian costumer why would she want me there? We talked a bit more and later on I had realized that I found myself eager to start on this project of making more clothing to match the setting, even while I was still working on my current one!

Sure enough once Hillary was off the shelves did I find myself scrambling to look for a prefab storefront to use. It took me a while until I found Four Winds. I’m using their Teal Brownstone Downtown Shoppe. I just wish Ms. Koshari could build more storefronts, there really isn’t a lot out there that are not 10×10 meters.

My store currently is a little bare, particularly since I realized that all my furniture in this account were fairly old, and extremely primmy. Plus finding prim potted plants is very challenging!

As part of my promotion, I’ll be pricing my Moga / Taisho / Prohibition / PULP outfits cheaper in this store as compared to my main store. Already both Spring Time Jazz and Tequila Rose are at discount price here.

The new store is located here.

Hillary Makes Her Entrance!

•July 16, 2009 • Leave a Comment

This week is turning into the most interesting week so far. Although, for reasons I don’t understand, I’ve been feeling unusually exhausted. I know I get enough sleep and exercise but it’s strange how the slightest efforts (like going to gym or even working on my outfits) would cause me to want to conk out and sleep (on and off) the next twelve hours. However this isn’t going to stop me from working however and I have a new gown to show for it.

Hillary was brought about through Lady Ashton Shilova’s request I try and design a Civil War era ballgown or a hoop skirt design. I found it quite intriguing and tried my hand at it. Sadly I think I may need more practice, both on my sculpties and flexi skirts. I would personally recommend wearing the non-scripted version of the skirt if you do plan on wearing it.

The outfit includes the following: blouse (jacket & shirt ver), glitchpants, mesh skirt, sculpted prim sleeves, prim skirt (scripted & non-scripted).

*Mirror sculpts were used.

There are eight (8) colors to choose from: Antique Rose, Blue, Chocolate, Cream, Crimson, Green, Purple & Teal at L$500 each.

A fatpack of all eight (8) gowns is also available and is at L$ 1,700.

Hillary (Steel), is available in my Group only Gift Chair. So, just remember to switch to your Silver Rose Design group tags and sit on the cushions for a few minutes to get your gift.

Items are COPY / MODIFY / NO TRANSFER.

I’ve also been invited to set up shop in a Taishou Era sim. You can tell what my next set of clothes will be on my next update! ;)   I’m hoping to get the shop up by this weekend, god willing! At the very least I’ll have it done by Sunday (my time, Saturday evening SLT)!

I’ll be posting the SLurl of the shop once I’m done.
