*SRD* Update: Sensible Elinor

I got a few inspirations from Sense and Sensibility, and made a Regency inspired dress. It’s a very light, spring themed dress. After weeks and months of winter clothes and it’s almost about time to change into something sweet and airy.

Granted I’ve never known winter because well…I live in the tropics. (^_^) So making winter apparel has never been a thing for me. So if you’re wondering why I’m suddenly pushing non-winter apparel this early, then at least you know why.

The outfit comes with the following: Blouse (jacket & shirt), glitchpants, lace cut gloves, sculpted collar, sculpted prim sleeves, prim flexi skirt and a sculpted bonnet (which I never got a photo off because I didn’t have the right hair for it).

Okay, everyone may have heard about Avatar’s United, a Second Life Facebook social networking (although it’s capacity does not entirely focus on Second Life as it supports other MMOs like World of Warcraft). It’s basically your Avatar’s Facebook, literally.

It looks like Facebook, even *feels* like Facebook.

But the problem right now particularly is that some folks using Avatar’s United had started forming “official” groups in behalf of Caledon, a Victorian-Steampunk community that Desmond Shang started in late 2005 (or was it early 2006?). Which can be a dizzy of a drama can of worms right there.

It’s like a fanfic writer claiming to own the material where his fanfic is based from, if you get my drift?

Desmond Shag’s official word for the matter:

Official word is this: for now, Please Do Not Use the Avatar United site for Caledon stuff.

Right now, Des has every right to be upset that someone is infringing on his trademark by claiming to be “official” voice of Caledon in AU. So until this whole drama has sorted this out, please kindly withdraw from any of the AU groups pertaining to Caledon.

I know Des is a sweetheart and is fairly easy going and I’m sure the whole group was never meant to be malicious but please, stop and think for a moment. Claiming to be an ‘official’ group or whatever when you’re not is not the smartest thing to do.

*SRD* Update: Steel Magnolia

First of all, I’d like to apologize for my lateness. It has been, the worst holidays ever. I realized how frickin’ old I am the moment I’ve stopped being happy when Christmas rolled about. Instead of the eager child awaiting presents and all the goodies that came with the holidays, I am instead the one trudging through jam packed malls, buying presents and making goodies for everyone else while not expecting stuff in return, because you know…I’m an adult and that’s what adults do. (-_-)

Lets not forget my car getting busted, and suffered a severe asthma attack that lead to an infection hence getting sick with the flu and then the cold for several weeks after. The rest of my Christmas budget after the car repair and medication (not to mention doctor visits) went poof.

Second is I’ve recently lost my second pet this morning, the sister of the mini-kangaroo rat (as it’s called here but, they’re called gerbils everywhere else) that died last November 22, 2009. I guess that’s natural, the vet said they’re old…but I believed that Yuki-Roo got lonely and decided to pick up her litter mate sister, Suki-Roo. Unfortunately that left my third roo, Mimiru alone now. 😦

Anyway, enough with the depressing RL. I’ve finally finished the dress I’ve been meaning to finish like weeks ago had I not been sick. Now originally I wanted it to be steampunk theme, hence the appearance of some metallic like accents (I got the design idea off another Granado Espada outfit), however the end result…came out less Victorian than what I had expected, but something I’d put under “Fantasy-Steampunk Victorian” I guess, not sure. You guys be the judge. 🙂

Now some of you may have noticed that the Silver Rose Design group is now a paid enrollment. Why? It’s because this is to prevent abuse on getting the group gifts. I’ve noticed some members leaving and re-joining again once new stuff come out and leaving once they get the gifts, and frankly that’s not very nice. 😦

Instead, I’m putting a stop to that. To those who want to save on group space, they can just join my Subscribe-O-Matic which you can find in all my stores. In fact, it’s a neat thing because it’s a subscription group to two (2) of my stores (Silver Rose Design & Lithium Flower) instead of just one. Problem is, no group gifts here unless you join the group. 🙂

Another is that I’ll be closing most of my store branches that I pay rent to except for my main store in Urqhart, Caledon and Taishou-Modern. Mostly because I simply can not afford rental anymore. One day when sales are better, I’ll hopefully rent again. But right now, sadly I must bite the bullet and say good bye to those wonderful spaces that has been home to my shop for a long time.

Miss Georgia

Banks + Lawyers = one very harassed me.

Needless to say that has delayed me a bit this month. I was really hoping to get three items at least every month up. But hey, those are the breaks. I’ll try to make up for it in September. I’m really trying to gun for an outfit a week, as long as real life doesn’t get in the way of course.

Other than that, I’ve decided to bring back (sort of) one of the older gowns I’ve recently retired. Georgia, was supposed to be an update for the Autumn Elegance look. I’m not sure if I succeeded but hey if not I can always try again.

Georgia is not going to be any of my more flamboyant bustles. If anything, she has a more streamlined silhouette, that gives her that elegant feel without really loosing that Victorian touch.

The outfit includes the following: blouse (jacket & shirt), system skirt, glitchpants, sculpted collar with ruffles, sculpted cuffs, sculpted upper sleeves and prim skirt (scripted & non-scripted).

The colors I’ve chosen for this set have that touch of gothic to it, nothing too gothic but I figured I’d mix a bit of darker colors with the usual.

Hillary Makes Her Entrance!

This week is turning into the most interesting week so far. Although, for reasons I don’t understand, I’ve been feeling unusually exhausted. I know I get enough sleep and exercise but it’s strange how the slightest efforts (like going to gym or even working on my outfits) would cause me to want to conk out and sleep (on and off) the next twelve hours. However this isn’t going to stop me from working however and I have a new gown to show for it.

Hillary was brought about through Lady Ashton Shilova’s request I try and design a Civil War era ballgown or a hoop skirt design. I found it quite intriguing and tried my hand at it. Sadly I think I may need more practice, both on my sculpties and flexi skirts. I would personally recommend wearing the non-scripted version of the skirt if you do plan on wearing it.

The outfit includes the following: blouse (jacket & shirt ver), glitchpants, mesh skirt, sculpted prim sleeves, prim skirt (scripted & non-scripted).

*Mirror sculpts were used.

There are eight (8) colors to choose from: Antique Rose, Blue, Chocolate, Cream, Crimson, Green, Purple & Teal at L$500 each.

Miss Abelia

I actually finished setting up the vendors for my new outfit, late last night (at least very late for me). I would have updated my blog but my brain was shrieking obscenities at me telling me that my eyes needed to stop staring at my monitor and that I needed to sleep–like two hours ago. I guess it didn’t help that my body had gotten used to be roused around 5:30am in the morning.

So yeah….

Now the updates!

The outfit Abelia can be worn two ways: the prim and proper way, with the blouse and inner shirt demurely covering her up to her dainty neck which makes for a perfect day dress, and the sultry way, sans inner shirt and displaying a bit of decolletage and skin to tantalize and tease, a perfect alternative to the evening gown.

This gown includes the following: Blouse (w/ & w/o inner shirt, both Jacket & Shirt ver.), glitch pants, system mesh skirt, prim lace collar (attachment points of spine & collar), sculpted upper sleeves, sculpted cuffs, two (2) style prim skirts (scripted & non-scripted)

Abelia in Blue will be available in my Group Gift chair once I get the script. I Like Cake

That was one word I’d describe my current gown right now…it looked like a cake. With the pastel colors, the layering and the like, I didn’t think how much it’s resembled like a cake, until I realized I’m having a cheesecake craving.

Other than that, I’m very happy that I’ve actually learned enough of Blender to make my own sculpties, which is really awesome considering that sculpties have been one of my long stumbling blocks. And contrary to popular belief, Blender is not all that hard or complicated…it only looks that way. But once you go through the simple tutorials you’ll be making stuff in no time!

Beatrice is perfect for that Victorian Spring or Summer, as long as it involves the outdoors, flowers, tea and cake! Specifically cake.

Charlotte

Ugh, the past two months had not been kind. In-between heat waves, a typhoon and everyone I know who got the flu and the cold–I just recovered from the sniffles myself–but it was still somewhat productive.

I am unsure where I got the idea of designing Charlotte. And the name? Just randomly picked by my brain. Oh the stuff you think off under the influence of cold meds.

This outfit comes with the following: blouse (with and without mesh, in both jacket and shirt version), glitch pants, system skirt, scuplted prim sleeves (upper and lower sleeves), and the prim skirt (both unscripted and scripted).

As indicated the outfit contains “Mirrored Prims” for the sculpties.

Lady Noir

Whew! First new product update for the month of April! It’ll be Holy Week here so my update would be sporadic at best since my brain will be wired in Vacation Mindset (one can hope–I am impossible to pry off my computer).

Lady Noir was inspired from another Western, only this time it wasn’t a movie but a table-top game called ‘Deadlands’ that my friends and I played a few months ago. The gown was named after my character, Lady Noir.

The outfit comes with the following: blouse (opaque and transparent lace), corset only (opaque and transparent lace), gloves (opaque and transparent lace), system skirt (it can be worn as a stand alone if you dont want to wear the prim skirts), glitch pants, sculpted prim sleeves, prim skirt (scripted and non-scripted).

As indicated, I’ve used SL’s “Mirror Prim” for the sculpties.

There are several colors to choose from: Blue, Chocolate, Gold, Green, Purple and Red.

For this update  instead of giving away a group only gift / Lucky Chair item, I’ve instead set aside one of the color alteration gowns for my Relay For Life vendor. The vendor is located in Steelhead Saloon, so please drop by and donate! A little comes a long way and it’s for a good cause.

I would have joined the RFL years ago, considering my mother had passed on from Breast Cancer 2006, but I had been very busy doing a personal RFL to pay for the debt we owe. It’s an ungodly sum (at least to me) just how much we had to spend, but even if we were simply buying borrowed time, it was money well spent.

Miss Maverick ♥

Seminars, a sprained wrist (which is still twitchy by the way and I can’t put too much weight on it) and other real life concerns, has kept me occupied lately. I guess it didn’t help that a lot of Second Life happenings has burned me out (not to mention kept me fairly distracted from getting any real work done). I’ve decided to lay back on some of my ‘frivolous’ activities and re-focus on my work for Silver Rose Designs and Lithium Flower.

That being said, I suppose lets just hop on to the updates.

Miss Maverick was inspired by the gown worn in the movie Maverick upon the request of a good friend. Unfortunately, I’m not that talented enough to actually get the actual gown right (plus I lacked reference pictures).

The gown comes with the following: blouse, corset (jacket version), panties, stocking (both opaque and transparent), system skirt, glitch pants, prim lace ruffles with sculpted prim uni-boob, sculpted prim sleeves with lace, and prim skirt (both scripted and non-scripted).

*Note: Warning! I’ve used SL’s sculpted prim mirroring. If you’re using an older client, the prims may not come out right if you rez them, so please get the latest client if you want them to look right. The vendors have also notes saying that Mirrored Prims were used. Read them!

There are six (6) colors to choose from: Blue, Chocolate, Green, Purple, Red and Steel.

The ‘Antique Rose’ version will be available to the SRD group members, after fourteen (14) days or when the notice expires, the item will then be available at the Lucky Chair.
